A Comprehensive Guide For Vermiculite Spray NSW

Vermiculite Spray NSW is a rigid and very stable passive fire protection coating applied to structural steel. It is cementitious, formulated to provide passive fire safety assurance in steelwork, such as structural steel beams, columns, metal ducts, and cables.

How does it function?

A lightweight Vermiculite Spray NSW fireproofing coating provides effective fire resistance to the steel structure. Constructions protected with vermiculite spray can deliver fire resistance for up to 4 hours. It provides up to 240 minutes of protection from steel structure collapse in case of a fire incident. It gets applied to bare steel exteriors in the thickness of up to 30 mm at a time. Ensure that the steel surface is dry with no oil, flaking paint, or dirt.

Application

Vermiculite Spray NSW is best for internal and external heat proofing applications, with added acoustic advantage. This spray is available in 2 grades:

1) Internal Grade (Economic and robust for internal use).

2) External Grade (Firm coating and resistant to varying climatic circumstances).

In construction boards, which sometimes acts as a 'central' in fire doors, vermiculite offers encasing or create ductwork, to shield steel building elements from fire, and to build fire barriers.

Expanded vermiculite

Expanded vermiculite is a perfect fireproofing material for fireproof plates and has distinct thermal stability and lack of toxicity at elevated temperatures. Inorganic vermiculite has excellent sound and thermal insulation properties and is not poisonous, lightweight, biostable, and robust. Exfoliated (expanded/expanded) vermiculite is light, inflammable, compressive, highly absorbable, inert, and may have a high potential for positive ion exchange.
